Selemani Jabir Msonjele, popularly known as Msaga Sumu, is a Tanzanian Singeli singer and songwriter. He is widely considered a pioneer and one of the most influential figures in the Singeli music genre, which originated in the ghettos of Dar es Salaam and is characterized by its high-energy, fast-paced rhythms and super-speed lyrical delivery. He is also known as “Mfalme wa Uswahilini,” which translates to “King of the Street.”

He launched his career in 2007, and in 2018, he became the first Singeli artist to release an album, titled Mwanaume Mashine. He has had numerous hits throughout his career, including “Mama wa Kambo,” “Babu wa Luanga,” and “Uswahilini Sihami.” His recent releases include the singles “Nyungu,” “Tanzania Kama Ulaya,” and “Fundi,” all from 2025. He often performs with DJ Msolopa, his official producer and DJ.
