Mzungu Kichaa Mzungu Kichaa, whose real name is Espen Sørensen, is a Danish-born singer-songwriter who has become a celebrated figure in Tanzanian and East African music. Born in 1980 in Denmark, he moved to Tanzania at age six, where he was raised and became fluent in Kiswahili. His stage name, "Mzungu Kichaa," translates to "crazy white man" and was coined while he was working at Bongo Records in Dar es Salaam in the late 1990s.
