Ambwene Allen Yessayah, widely known by his stage name A.Y. or AY Masta, is a Tanzanian musician, rapper, and entrepreneur. Born on July 5, 1982, in Mtwara, he is considered a pioneer of the Bongo Flava genre, being one of the first artists to commercialize hip-hop in the country. He began his career in 1996 with the group S.O.G. before going solo in 2002.
